Alicia Vikander

Alicia Vikander (born October 3, 1988, in Gothenburg, Sweden) is a Swedish screen artist celebrated for intelligent, emotionally precise performances across European cinema and major Hollywood productions. Over the course of her career, she has earned top-tier recognition, including an Academy Award, alongside multiple Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations.

Raised in Gothenburg, Vikander first appeared in small stage roles at the Gothenburg opera house and trained seriously in ballet at Stockholm’s Royal Swedish Ballet. She transitioned from Swedish shorts and television to broader notice with the drama series Andra Avenyn. Her feature breakthrough arrived with Pure as Katarina, a performance that brought her Sweden’s Guldbagge Award and signaled a major new talent.

International audiences soon took note through roles such as Kitty in Anna Karenina and Queen Caroline Mathilde in A Royal Affair.
