Allison Abbate
Allison Abbate (born July 23, 1965, in Brooklyn, New York) is an American screen artist and production professional whose work is closely tied to the craft of animation and behind-the-scenes filmmaking. While best known for production, her on-screen presence has helped document how animated features are conceived, built, and brought to life.
Abbate is associated with celebrated modern animation, including Fantastic Mr. Fox, where she contributed a voice performance as Rabbit’s Ex-Girlfriend. Her career also intersects with landmark projects such as The Iron Giant, appearing as herself in companion documentaries like The Giant's Dream: The Making of the Iron Giant and The Making of 'The Iron Giant', offering viewers an inside look at the creative pipeline and collaboration behind the film.
She has further championed the artistry and history of the medium through documentary work, including Beyond Ink & Paint: The Women of Animation, and craft-focused features such as Miniatures in Motion: Bringing Frankenweenie to Life. Abbate has also appeared in Tim Burton: Life in the Line, reflecting her proximity to influential voices in contemporary animation and design.
