Alyson Hannigan
Alyson Hannigan (born March 24, 1974, in Washington, D.C.) is an American screen actress and TV presenter known for blending sharp comedy with heartfelt character work across film and television.
She became a pop-culture favorite as Willow Rosenberg on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003), a role that helped define genre TV for a new generation. Hannigan later anchored sitcom success as Lily Aldrin on How I Met Your Mother (2005–2014), earning a People’s Choice Award in 2009 for her performance.
On the big screen, Hannigan is widely recognized as Michelle Flaherty in the American Pie franchise, including American Pie, American Pie 2, and American Wedding. Her film credits also include Date Movie, Dead Man on Campus, and My Stepmother Is an Alien, showcasing her range from teen comedy to offbeat ensemble projects.
Expanding beyond acting, Hannigan has hosted Penn & Teller: Fool Us since 2016 and has continued voice work as Claire Clancy on Disney Junior’s Fancy Nancy, reinforcing her versatility across formats and audiences.
