Amir El-Masry

Amir El-Masry (also credited as Amir ElMasry and known in Arabic as أمير المصري) is an Egyptian-British screen actor born on August 2, 1990, in the United Kingdom. Moving between Arabic- and English-language projects, he has built a profile for character-driven performances across film and television.

He first drew attention with his debut in the Egyptian comedy Ramadan Mabrouk Abu El Alamein Hamouda (2008), earning a Best Movie Debut prize at the Egyptian Cinema Oscar Festival. His international breakthrough arrived with Limbo (2020), a performance that won him a Scottish BAFTA and also brought a British Independent Film Award nomination.

Industry recognition followed quickly: El-Masry was selected as a 2020 BAFTA Breakthrough Brit and was later named a 2021 Screen International Star of Tomorrow. Recent notable credits include In Camera (Conrad), A Haunting in Venice (Alessandro Longo), Club Zero (Mr. Dahl), Giant (Prince Naseem “Naz” Hamed), #Marry_Me_Off (فارس), plus titles such as 1+1, المحارب العربي, and The Stories.
