Amy Landecker (also credited as Amy Lauren Landecker) is an American screen and stage actress born on September 30, 1969, in Chicago, Illinois. Known for her sharp intelligence and lived-in realism, she has built a career that moves easily between comedy and drama, often grounding ensembles with nuanced supporting work.

Before becoming a familiar face in film and streaming, Landecker appeared in television comedy, including series such as The Paul Reiser Show and Curb Your Enthusiasm, while also performing in Off-Broadway productions. That blend of stage craft and on-camera timing helped shape the naturalistic style that defines many of her performances.

In 2014, she reached a wider global audience starring as Sarah Pfefferman on Amazon’s acclaimed comedy-drama Transparent, a role that showcased her ability to balance humor, vulnerability, and family tension. The series became a major milestone in her career and solidified her as a standout in modern TV storytelling.

Landecker’s film credits include A Serious Man (Mrs. Samsky), Enough Said (Debbie), All Is Bright (Therese Girard), Dan in Real Life (Cindy Lamson), Project Almanac (Kathy Raskin), Three Months (Edith), and I Love My Dad (Diane), with additional work such as I Wish You All the Best (Brenda de Backer).
