Amy Sedaris

Amy Sedaris (also credited as Amy Louise Sedaris) is an American screen artist celebrated for her sharp comedic timing, character work, and distinctive voice performances. Born March 29, 1961, in Endicott, New York, she has built a career that moves easily between cult TV, mainstream film, and animation.

She became a breakout favorite as Jerri Blank in Comedy Central’s Strangers with Candy, later returning for the prequel film, which she also co-wrote—cementing her reputation as a performer with a fearless, writerly point of view. Sedaris continued to draw acclaim across television, including memorable roles in The Heart, She Holler, Netflix’s BoJack Horseman (as Princess Carolyn), and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Her surreal, craft-and-chaos showcase At Home with Amy Sedaris made her a standout creator and star, earning Emmy-nominated recognition in the variety sketch space. In recent years, she reached new audiences as Peli Motto in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

On the big screen, Sedaris is known for scene-stealing turns in Elf (as Deb) and voice roles like Cinderella in Shrek the Third and Foxy Loxy in Chicken Little, alongside credits such as Somebody I Used to Know, Full Grown Men, and Snow Angels.
