Andrew Lazar
Andrew Lazar (born January 1, 1966, in New York City) is an American film producer known for steering studio-scale projects while maintaining a hands-on, producer-driven approach. A graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Lazar built his career at the intersection of creative development and commercial filmmaking.
In 1997, he founded Mad Chance Productions, a banner that has operated in affiliation with Warner Bros. while also collaborating across the wider studio landscape. Through Mad Chance, Lazar has developed and produced films with an emphasis on strong storytelling and audience reach, helping shape projects from early concept through release.
Lazar has also appeared on camera in connection with his work, including the documentary feature One Soldier's Story: The Journey of American Sniper and the behind-the-scenes special The Making Of 'American Sniper', both credited “as Self.” He is of Jewish heritage.
Today, Lazar remains recognized as a steady, influential presence in American film production—rooted in New York, trained at Tisch, and defined by long-running studio partnerships.
