Andy Garcia
Andy Garcia (born April 12, 1956, in Havana, Cuba) is an American screen artist known for his charismatic mix of intensity and charm. Also credited as Andy Arthur, Andres Garcia, and Tommy Bahama, he has built a career spanning acting, directing, producing, and music-related work.
Garcia broke through in Brian De Palma’s The Untouchables as George Stone, sharing the screen with Kevin Costner, Sean Connery, and Robert De Niro. He quickly followed with standout turns in films such as Stand and Deliver and Internal Affairs, before earning major acclaim as Vincent Mancini in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather Part III—a performance that brought him an Academy Award nomination.
Throughout the 1990s and beyond, Garcia remained a steady presence in Hollywood, including roles in Hero and other dramas and thrillers. He also earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for the HBO film For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story, which he produced and starred in.
Many audiences know him best as Terry Benedict in Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven, returning for Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen. Beyond acting, he directed and led The Lost City and has continued appearing in high-profile projects, including Expend4bles.
