Anson Boon

Anson Boon (born February 15, 2000, in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire) is an English screen actor known for bringing intensity and emotional clarity to both film and television roles. Raised in a close-knit family, he grew up with a father who DJed as a passion and a mother from a working-class London background, alongside a younger brother.

Determined to work professionally, Boon left college and pursued acting without taking the traditional drama-school route. He made his on-screen debut in 2014 with the children’s sitcom All at Sea, quickly building experience across genres and formats.

His profile rose in 2019 with standout appearances in Blackbird and Sam Mendes’ acclaimed war epic 1917 (as Private Cooke), the same year he was named a Screen International Star of Tomorrow. In 2020, he landed his first leading film role in the mystery drama The Winter Lake, opposite Emma Mackey.

Since then, Boon has continued to expand his range with credits including Crawl, Widow Clicquot (as Edouard Werle), and National Theatre Live: 'Master Harold'... and the boys. In 2022, he drew wide attention portraying Johnny Rotten in Danny Boyle’s biographical miniseries Pistol.
