Anthony Ramos
Anthony Ramos (also credited as Anthony Ramos Martinez; Arabic: آنتونی راموس) is an American actor and singer born on November 1, 1991, in New York City. Trained in musical theatre at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, he built his early career on stage before breaking out to global audiences.
In 2015, Ramos originated the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Broadway phenomenon Hamilton, a performance that helped earn the production a Grammy Award. He later received Primetime Emmy recognition tied to the 2020 recorded stage presentation, underscoring his ability to translate live-theatre intensity to the screen.
Ramos expanded into film with a notable supporting turn in A Star Is Born (2018) and then led the big-screen adaptation of In the Heights (2021), which brought him Golden Globe attention. His recent run includes studio spectacle and character-driven work alike, from Dumb Money (as Marcos Garcia) to the disaster thriller Twisters (as Javi).
He’s also a distinctive voice performer, playing Piranha in The Bad Guys franchise and Trollex in Trolls Holiday in Harmony, while earlier credits include White Girl (as Kilo). Across genres, Ramos is known for combining musicality, charisma, and grounded emotion.
