Arty Froushan

Arty Froushan (also credited as Artemas Bolour-Froushan) is an actor whose work moves fluidly between prestige theatre and high-profile screen roles. Born on April 16, 1993, in Hartford, Connecticut, he was raised in South London in a multicultural family with English, Iranian, and French roots—an international background that has helped shape his range on stage and camera.

Froushan studied at St Paul’s School in Barnes before earning a BA in French and German from Brasenose College, Oxford (2015). He then trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), completing his professional foundation in 2017. His early career quickly leaned into theatre, including a professional stage debut at the Royal Court Theatre, and later major turns in Leopoldstadt in the West End and on Broadway, captured in National Theatre Live: Leopoldstadt as Leo.

On television, he gained wider attention as Jonah Breakspear in Amazon’s Carnival Row (2019–2023), alongside appearances in Knightfall and Strike Back: Vendetta. He also entered the Game of Thrones universe as Ser Qarl Correy in HBO’s House of the Dragon.

In film, Froushan made a notable feature debut as Majid in The Persian Version, which premiered at Sundance. His upcoming slate includes Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale as Noël Coward, with further projects such as Soulm8te and The Love Hypothesis adding to his growing international profile.
