Aubrey Plaza

Aubrey Plaza (born June 26, 1984, in Wilmington, Delaware) is an American actor, comedian, and producer known for turning deadpan wit into a signature screen presence. As a teenager she performed in local theatre, then sharpened her timing through improv and sketch at New York’s Upright Citizens Brigade before graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Plaza’s feature debut arrived with Mystery Team (2009) as Kelly Peters, followed by a breakout run as April Ludgate on NBC’s Parks and Recreation (2009–2015). Her film work quickly expanded from studio comedies like Funny People (as Daisy Danby) to indie standouts, including Safety Not Guaranteed (2012) as Darius and Damsels in Distress as “Depressed Debbie.

She later earned acclaim on FX’s Legion, playing both Lenny Busker and the Shadow King, while also producing and starring in darkly comic, character-driven projects. Her recent momentum includes awards attention for HBO’s The White Lotus Season 2, recognition as one of Time’s 100 most influential people (2023), and a Marvel turn in Agatha All Along (2024).
