Ayo Edebiri
Ayo Edebiri (born Funmilayo Edebiri on October 3, 1995, in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American screen artist known for sharp comedic timing, grounded dramatic work, and a growing presence behind the camera. She first built momentum in the industry through television writing, then expanded into acting and voice performance.
Edebiri’s profile rose significantly with her acclaimed turn as Sydney Adamu in the comedy-drama series The Bear, a breakthrough that brought major awards recognition and positioned her as one of the standout performers of her generation. She has also earned attention for her directing, including an episode that drew Directors Guild notice.
On film, she continues to widen her range with roles in Bottoms (as Josie), The Sweet East (as Molly), Omni Loop (as Paula), and Don’t Look at That, alongside an uncredited appearance in Shithouse (as Emily). Edebiri is also a sought-after voice actor, voicing April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and Glory in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, plus multiple parts in We Lost Our Human.
