Barbara Muschietti

Barbara Muschietti (also credited as Bárbara Muschietti and known in Japan as バーバラ・マスキエッティ) is an Argentine film producer and screenwriter born on December 22, 1971, in Vicente López, Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has built an international profile by steering ambitious genre projects from development through release.

Muschietti is best known for producing the horror hit Mama (2013), followed by the blockbuster Stephen King adaptations It (2017) and It Chapter Two (2019). She later expanded into superhero filmmaking as a producer on The Flash (2023). These major features were directed by her younger brother, filmmaker Andy Muschietti, with Barbara serving as a key creative and production partner.

Her behind-the-scenes impact is also reflected in industry and fan-focused appearances, including credits as herself in projects such as Making The Flash: Worlds Collide, The Flash: Saga of the Scarlet Speedster, and Verano de película 3. She has also appeared in genre programming like Eli Roth's History of Horror, underscoring her ongoing connection to modern horror storytelling.
