Basil Iwanyk

Basil Iwanyk (born January 4, 1970, in Teaneck, New Jersey) is an American film producer best known for building crowd-pleasing, high-impact genre cinema. Of Ukrainian heritage, he has become a key behind-the-scenes force in modern Hollywood action and thriller filmmaking.

After gaining industry experience at Warner Bros. during the 1990s, Iwanyk launched Thunder Road Films in 2000. The company’s rise has been closely tied to his knack for pairing filmmaker-driven storytelling with commercial scale, helping projects move from development to global release.

He is widely associated with the John Wick franchise, a series that helped redefine contemporary action choreography and world-building. His producing slate also includes notable titles such as Sicario, The Town, and Greenland, contributing to a worldwide box-office total surpassing $2 billion by 2018.

Beyond feature films, Iwanyk has appeared as himself in several John Wick-related documentaries and featurettes, including Don’t F*#% With John Wick, Chamber Check: Evolution of a Fight Scene, As Above, So Below: The Underworld of 'John Wick', and Wick Is Pain.
