Ben Cartwright
Ben Cartwright (born June 17, 1979, Great Britain) is a British screen actor recognized for grounded supporting performances across studio features and genre-driven projects. He has built a steady career playing authority figures and sharp character roles that add texture and realism to ensemble casts.
Cartwright is widely associated with two notable 2009 productions: Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes, where he appears as a grave policeman, and Terry Gilliam’s fantasy The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, credited as Policeman 1. He is also linked to Fearless (2017), expanding his screen work into contemporary drama.
In recent years, he has become especially familiar to horror audiences as Rudy in The Strangers franchise, appearing in The Strangers: Chapter 1 and continuing through Chapter 2 and Chapter 3. Additional credits include The Riot Act (as Philbin), Run For Your Wife (as D. S. Troughton), and Mutiny (as Lieutenant Underwood), underscoring his versatility across thriller, comedy, and action.
