Bill Fagerbakke

Bill Fagerbakke (also credited as William Fagerbakke) is an American screen and voice actor born on October 4, 1957, in Fontana, California. With a career spanning live-action comedy and animation, he has become a familiar presence to audiences through his warm, character-driven performances.

He is best known as the voice of Patrick Star across the SpongeBob SquarePants universe, including The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, SpongeBob vs. the Big One, and specials such as SpongeBob SquarePants Presents The Tidal Zone. His playful delivery and comedic timing helped shape one of modern animation’s most recognizable sidekicks.

Beyond Bikini Bottom, Fagerbakke’s voice work includes roles in The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Madagascar Penguins in a Christmas Caper, as well as Balto III: Wings of Change. He has also appeared on camera, including a memorable turn in Loose Cannons, showcasing his versatility across mediums.

Off screen, Fagerbakke has been married to Catherine McClenahan since 1989, and they have two children—grounding a long-running career built on consistency, craft, and enduring fan appeal.
