Bill Prady
Bill Prady (also credited as William Scott Prady) is an American television writer and producer, born June 7, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan. Best known for his work in comedy and entertainment, Prady has helped shape the tone and structure of modern U.S. sitcom storytelling through years of behind-the-scenes leadership.
Across his career, he has contributed to a range of American sitcoms and variety programs, earning a reputation for smart, character-driven humor and polished production craft. His work reflects a deep understanding of how writers’ rooms function, from breaking story to refining jokes and building long-running series engines.
Prady has also appeared on screen as himself in industry and fandom-focused projects, including Showrunners: The Art of Running a TV Show, For the Love of Spock, and multiple Star Trek documentaries. He has made occasional performance cameos as well, such as a scientist in Bill & Ted Face the Music, and has participated in programs like StarTalk with Neil deGrasse Tyson.
