Brendan Fraser
Brendan Fraser (also credited as Brendan James Fraser) is an American-Canadian screen actor born on December 3, 1968, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He broke through in the early 1990s, quickly showing a knack for both broad comedy and grounded drama, which helped him become a familiar leading man across multiple genres.
Fraser’s star power surged with crowd-pleasers like George of the Jungle, before he became synonymous with blockbuster adventure as Rick O’Connell in The Mummy films, including The Mummy Returns and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Alongside the franchise success, he took on darker, more dramatic work in titles such as Gods and Monsters and Crash, while continuing fantasy fare with roles in Bedazzled and Inkheart.
After a quieter stretch in the late 2000s and 2010s—shaped by professional setbacks and personal and health struggles—Fraser refocused with notable television work, including The Affair, Trust, and the long-running Doom Patrol. His film resurgence followed with No Sudden Move and culminated in Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale, a performance that earned major acclaim and an Academy Award for Best Actor.
