Brendan Hunt

Brendan Hunt (born June 28, 1972, in Chicago, Illinois) is an American screen artist known for acting and writing across film, television, and voice work. He built his foundation in theatre, completing Illinois State University’s theatre program in 1996, including performance experience with the Illinois Shakespeare Festival and an intensive master class led by Judith Ivey.

After earning his degree, Hunt sharpened his comedic craft in Chicago with The Second City before relocating to Amsterdam, where he became part of the Boom Chicago troupe. That international improv background helped shape a career defined by sharp character work and ensemble storytelling.

On screen, Hunt appeared in popular series such as Reno 911!, Parks and Recreation, Community, and How I Met Your Mother. He made a notable film breakthrough as the “Sketchy Dude” in We’re the Millers, later reuniting in another high-profile comedy, Horrible Bosses 2, as a sex addiction group member. His credits also include A Happening of Monumental Proportions, An Amsterdam Tale, and voice roles in Curious George: Royal Monkey.

Hunt is also widely recognized as a co-creator, writer, and regular cast member of Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso, where he plays Coach Willis Beard, helping bring the acclaimed series to audiences worldwide.
