Brian Lockhart

Brian Lockhart is a senior sports-media executive and producer known for shaping premium nonfiction storytelling across major platforms. He serves as Senior Vice President of Original Content at ESPN, guiding the strategy and development of ESPN Films projects, the acclaimed E60 franchise, and original series and studio programming for ESPN+.

In addition to creative oversight, Lockhart leads key operational areas including Business Affairs—spanning deal-making, co-productions, content negotiations, and talent relationships—and he also oversees ESPN’s award-winning Features group. He previously held leadership roles tied directly to ESPN+ original content, helping expand the service’s slate and identity.

Before joining ESPN, Lockhart was Vice President and Executive Producer of Original Content at NFL Media, where he managed development and production across long-form documentaries, features, and digital series. His credits include launching NFL Network Originals such as Undrafted and Football Town, the digital series NFL Life, and helping drive The Timeline, including standout installments like “America’s Game” and “The Iran Hostage Crisis.”

Lockhart’s earlier career includes six years at HBO Sports, contributing to programs like Inside the NFL, World Championship Boxing, and Costas Now. A Holy Cross graduate with a B.A. in Mathematics, he is also recognized for leadership and inclusion work, alongside a career that includes multiple Emmy wins.
