Caroline Dries

Caroline Dries (born August 19, 1980, in Wisconsin, USA) is an American television writer and producer recognized for shaping character-driven genre storytelling on major network series. Working primarily in TV, she has built a reputation for blending emotional stakes with fast-paced plotting.

Dries contributed as a writer on The CW’s Smallville and later worked on Melrose Place, adding to her résumé across long-running franchise television and reboot-era drama. She went on to take a leading creative role on The Vampire Diaries, serving as an executive producer and helping guide the series’ tone and narrative direction.

Beyond scripted television, Dries is also associated with real-world documentation: she is noted for video footage she captured during the events of September 11, 2001. Her screen credits also include an appearance connected to Crisis Aftermath (credited as Self).
