Carolyn Lawrence

Carolyn Lawrence (born February 13, 1967, in Dallas, Texas) is an American screen actress and celebrated voice performer, best known for bringing the spirited, science-loving squirrel Sandy Cheeks to life on Nickelodeon’s long-running hit SpongeBob SquarePants.

Lawrence’s voice work has helped define the tone of the franchise across formats, from series episodes to specials and feature projects. She reprises Sandy in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and later appearances such as SpongeBob vs. the Big One, SpongeBob SquarePants: Ghouls Fools, and SpongeBob SquarePants Presents The Tidal Zone, where she also plays Sandroid.

Beyond Bikini Bottom, Lawrence has built a versatile animation résumé, including Jimmy Neutron: Attack of the Twonkies as Cindy Vortex and the animated feature The Wild, voicing Ladybird and Monkey Girl. Her credits also include the voice narration role in Hearts of Hot Shots! Part Deux—A Filmmaker's Apology and on-camera work such as Vampires Anonymous as Penelope.
