Carsten H.W. Lorenz
Carsten H.W. Lorenz (also credited as Carsten Lorenz) is a German film producer best known for his long-running work behind the scenes on international studio features. Born on August 21, 1961, Lorenz has built a reputation for helping large-scale productions move from planning to screen with efficiency and polish.
Within the industry, he is widely recognized as a frequent collaborator of director Roland Emmerich, contributing to projects associated with Emmerich’s blockbuster filmmaking. That steady partnership has made Lorenz a familiar name in production circles, particularly on effects-driven, globally oriented releases.
In addition to production work, Lorenz has appeared on camera in a handful of credits. He is listed as a cab driver in Elsa & Fred and Wrong Side of Town, appears as “Carsten” in Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, and is featured as himself in the behind-the-scenes documentary Another Day: The Making of 'Independence Day: Resurgence'.
