Chadwick Boseman
Chadwick Boseman (also credited as Chadwick Aaron Boseman and Chad Boseman) was an American screen artist whose work bridged film, television, and the stage. Born on November 29, 1976, in Anderson, South Carolina, he built his craft through formal training at Howard University and further study at the British American Dramatic Academy in Oxford.
Before global stardom, Boseman established himself as a writer and playwright, earning recognition for his play Deep Azure, which received a 2006 Joseph Jefferson Award nomination for New Work. His breakthrough on screen arrived with his acclaimed portrayal of baseball icon Jackie Robinson in 42 (2013), followed by standout performances in Draft Day, Get On Up as James Brown, and The Kill Hole.
Boseman became a defining presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as T’Challa / Black Panther, debuting in Captain America: Civil War (2016) and leading Black Panther (2018) before appearing in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. After his death on August 28, 2020, his impact continued through tributes and archival appearances, including Celebrating Marvel’s Stan Lee and Marvel Studios specials.
