Charles Gillibert

Charles Gillibert (born September 14, 1977, in Tassin-la-Demi-Lune, Rhône-Alpes) is a French film producer known for championing auteur cinema and cross-disciplinary projects that bridge music, performance, and film. Raised in a creative family, he is the son of Michel Gillibert and Françoise Barquin, and the brother of actress Violaine Gillibert and Emmanuel Gillibert, who leads the Eggs advertising agency.

In 1995, Gillibert co-founded the production company NADA with Nathanaël Karmitz, alongside the Kieslowski Award, helping generate a prolific slate of short films, art videos, and documentaries that traveled widely on the international festival circuit. After NADA joined the MK2 group in 2002, he launched MK2 Music, exploring new formats at the intersection of sound and moving image and developing early “cinemix” performance concepts.

From 2006 onward, he expanded into internationally oriented feature production at MK2, collaborating with acclaimed filmmakers including Gus Van Sant, Abbas Kiarostami, Walter Salles, Xavier Dolan, Olivier Assayas, and Abdellatif Kechiche. He later served on MK2’s management board before founding his own company, CG CINEMA, in 2013 to focus on director development and global co-productions.

Gillibert’s credits include Personal Shopper and Once Upon a Time... MUSTANG. With CG CINEMA, he helped bring high-profile festival titles to audiences, notably Assayas’s Clouds of Sils Maria, reinforcing his reputation as a key producer in contemporary French and international cinema.
