Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron (also credited as Sharliz Teron) is a South African-born, American actress and producer known for combining movie-star charisma with fearless transformations. Born on August 7, 1975, in Benoni, Gauteng, she rose from early Hollywood roles to become one of her generation’s most recognized screen artists, earning major industry honors and global influence.

Theron broke through in the late 1990s with high-profile studio films such as The Devil’s Advocate (as Mary Ann Lomax) and The Cider House Rules (as Candy Kendall). Her career-defining turn came in Monster, where her portrayal of Aileen Wuornos won her the Academy Award for Best Actress—making her the first South African to take home an acting Oscar—and cemented her reputation for dramatic risk-taking.

Equally at home in action and character-driven drama, Theron has powered major franchises and modern thrillers, including her role as Cipher in Fast X, while also earning acclaim for complex performances in films like Sweet November and Reindeer Games. Beyond acting, she expanded into producing through Denver and Delilah Productions, shaping projects on both sides of the camera.
