Chris Miller
Chris Miller (also credited as Christopher Matthew Miller, born January 20, 1968, in Washington, D.C.) is an American screen artist known for acting and voice work, alongside a prominent career in animation and directing. Long associated with major studio filmmaking, he has worked with DreamWorks Animation and later Paramount Animation, helping shape some of the most recognizable modern family franchises.
Miller is widely identified with the Shrek universe, including his memorable voice performance as the Magic Mirror and his work on Shrek as Geppetto/Magic Mirror. He also became a fan favorite in the Madagascar series as the voice of Kowalski, returning for entries such as Madagascar, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, and specials like The Madagascar Penguins in a Christmas Caper and Operation: Penguin Takeover.
Beyond voice roles, Miller has directed major features including Shrek the Third and Puss in Boots, the latter earning him an Academy Award nomination. He studied animation at the California Institute of the Arts and has credited Woody Allen’s Sleeper as a pivotal influence on his path in film. His wife, Laura Gorenstein Miller, has worked as a dance choreographer.
