Christopher Abbott

Christopher Abbott (also credited as Christopher Jacob Abbott) is an American screen and stage actor born on February 10, 1986, in Greenwich, Connecticut. Known for moving fluidly between television, independent cinema, and theatre, he built an early reputation for grounded, psychologically sharp performances.

Abbott’s feature debut arrived in 2011 with Martha Marcy May Marlene, the same year he first appeared on Broadway in a revival of The House of Blue Leaves. Wider attention followed with his role as Charlie on HBO’s Girls, which helped position him as a distinctive presence in character-driven storytelling.

His work has earned major awards recognition, including an Independent Spirit Award nomination for leading the drama James White and a Golden Globe nomination for playing Capt. Yossarian in Hulu’s Catch-22.
