Christopher Markus
Christopher Markus (born January 2, 1970, in Buffalo, New York) is an American screenwriter best known for shaping modern blockbuster storytelling through long-running collaborations, most notably with Stephen McFeely. Together, the duo became major box-office forces, ranking among the top-grossing screenwriters in U.S. receipts and leading worldwide totals driven by global franchise hits.
Markus rose to international prominence with writing work on The Chronicles of Narnia films before becoming a key architect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His credits include the first three Captain America movies—The First Avenger, The Winter Soldier, and Civil War—along with Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, one of the highest-grossing films ever released.
Beyond feature scripts, Markus helped expand MCU storytelling on television as a co-creator of ABC’s Agent Carter. He has also appeared on-screen in Marvel-related specials such as Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe and Marvel's Captain America: 75 Heroic Years, and made a cameo as a SHIELD interrogator in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
