Christopher Storer

Christopher Storer (also credited as Chris Storer; Japanese: クリストファー・ストアラー) is an American writer, director, and producer born on July 5, 1981. Best known for directing, he has built a reputation for sharp, character-driven storytelling across comedy and drama.

Storer first gained industry attention through a close creative partnership with comedian Bo Burnham. He helped shape Burnham’s onstage work by co-directing the acclaimed specials what. (2013) and Make Happy (2016), projects noted for their precise pacing and cinematic approach to stand-up.

Expanding into film, Storer served as a producer on Burnham’s coming-of-age feature Eighth Grade (2018), further establishing his range behind the camera. His biggest breakthrough arrived with The Bear (2022–present), where he is the creator, co-showrunner, writer, and director—an all-hands role that helped define the series’ tense, intimate style.

For The Bear, Storer has earned major awards recognition, including four Primetime Emmy Awards, cementing his status as one of the standout creative voices in contemporary American television.
