Colin Firth

Colin Firth (also credited as Colin Andrew Firth) is an English actor and producer, born on September 10, 1960, in Grayshott, Hampshire. Emerging in the mid-1980s among a wave of high-profile young British performers, he quickly built a reputation for intelligent, emotionally precise screen work.

Early leads in films such as A Month in the Country, Tumbledown, and Valmont set the stage for his breakout as Mr. Darcy in the 1995 TV adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. That role opened the door to major international projects including The English Patient (as Geoffrey Clifton), Shakespeare in Love (as Lord Wessex), Love Actually (as Jamie Bennett), and the long-running Bridget Jones series (as Mark Darcy).

Firth’s career reached a new peak with his Academy Award-winning performance as King George VI in The King’s Speech, following an Oscar-nominated turn in A Single Man. He later expanded into modern thrillers and action, notably as Harry Hart in the Kingsman films, while continuing acclaimed work in cinema and television.

Beyond acting, he co-founded Raindog Films and has received major industry honors, including a CBE, alongside recognition for his humanitarian and environmental advocacy.
