Damián Alcázar

Damián Alcázar (Jorge Damián Alcázar Castello) is a celebrated Mexican screen and stage actor, born January 8, 1953, in Jiquilpan, Michoacán, Mexico (also known as 達米恩·艾卡薩). Trained at Mexico’s National Institute of Fine Arts, he continued his studies in theatrical experimentation and later at the Universidad Veracruzana’s theatre faculty—where he would eventually teach as well.

After building his craft in theatre, Alcázar moved into film in the mid-1980s and quickly became a standout presence in Mexican cinema. Awards and Ariel nominations followed early in his screen career, helping establish him as one of the defining performers of the modern era.

International audiences also recognize him from major titles such as The Crime of Padre Amaro (Padre Natalio Pérez), Herod's Law (Juan Vargas), Satanás - Profile of a Killer (Eliseo), and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (Lord Sopespian). His work ranges from political satire to character-driven drama, marked by intensity and sharp detail.

Alcázar’s long-running collaboration with director Luis Estrada further cemented his status through socially incisive films like A Wonderful World, Hell, and The Perfect Dictatorship. In 2018, he was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, underscoring his influence across film and television.
