Dan Lin
Dan Lin (also credited as Lín Wěi or Lin Wei) is a Taipei-born Taiwanese-American producer known for building audience-friendly franchises across film and television. Born April 8, 1971, he has become a prominent creative executive shaping mainstream studio and streaming slates.
Lin founded the production company Rideback in 2008, originally launched as Lin Pictures before rebranding in 2018. His producing work spans major Warner Bros. hits including Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, along with the blockbuster LEGO series—The Lego Movie, The Lego Batman Movie, The Lego Ninjago Movie, and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. He also produced the horror phenomenon It, widely recognized for setting a high-water mark at the global box office for the genre.
At Disney, Lin helped bring animated favorites into live action, producing Aladdin and the adaptation of Lilo & Stitch. In addition to his behind-the-scenes work, he has appeared as himself in projects such as One Brick at a Time: Making the LEGO Batman Movie and Close Up with The Hollywood Reporter.
Today, Lin serves as chairman of Netflix Films, continuing to champion big, accessible storytelling with global reach.
