Daniel Wu
Daniel Wu (also credited as Daniel Wu Yin-Cho; Chinese: 吴彦祖/吳彥祖) is a Hong Kong screen actor and filmmaker born on September 30, 1974, in Berkeley, California. Celebrated for a versatile presence and a distinct on-screen style, he has become a recognizable leading man across the Chinese-language film world.
Wu made his feature debut in 1998 and quickly built a prolific career, appearing in more than 60 films. His work has earned major industry recognition, including multiple Golden Horse Awards, underscoring both his popularity and his craft.
International audiences also know Wu from television, notably as the star of AMC’s martial-arts drama Into the Badlands, and from Disney+’s wuxia-infused action comedy American Born Chinese. His cross-cultural appeal has helped bridge Asian cinema and global genre storytelling.
