Danny McBride

Danny McBride (also credited as Danny R. McBride) is an American actor, comedian, writer, and producer born on December 29, 1976, in Statesboro, Georgia. Known for abrasive charm and fearless, off-kilter humor, he became a defining voice in modern screen comedy, often blending outrageous characters with surprising emotional bite.

McBride’s breakout came on HBO with Eastbound & Down (2009–2013), playing washed-up baseball star Kenny Powers. He later expanded his creative footprint by co-creating and starring in the darkly funny school satire Vice Principals (2016–2017) and the televangelist send-up The Righteous Gemstones (2019–present), cementing his reputation as a distinctive storyteller as well as a performer.

On the big screen, McBride has delivered memorable supporting turns in comedies and ensemble hits, including Pineapple Express (Red), Tropic Thunder (Cody), Hot Rod (Rico), and Drillbit Taylor (Don). He also stepped into voice work with Despicable Me as Fred McDade, and showed range in films like Up in the Air (Jim Miller).

From early indie work such as The Foot Fist Way (Fred Simmons) and All the Real Girls to headline HBO series, Danny McBride remains a go-to screen artist for bold comedy with a sharp edge.
