Danny Trejo
Danny Trejo (also credited as Denni Trekho, Dan Trejo, or Daniel Trejo) is a Mexican-American screen actor born on May 16, 1944, in Los Angeles, California. Recognized worldwide as a quintessential character performer, Trejo has built a career playing tough, streetwise figures—often villains or hard-edged anti-heroes—while bringing unexpected humanity to even the most intimidating roles.
Across decades in Hollywood, Trejo has become a familiar face in major studio hits and cult favorites alike. He appears in Michael Mann’s Heat as Trejo and memorably turns up in Con Air as “Johnny-23,” a performance that helped cement his on-screen persona. His filmography also includes Reindeer Games (Jumpy) and Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects (Rondo).
Horror and action audiences know him from From Dusk Till Dawn as Razor Charlie, a role he reprised in From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman’s Daughter. He also appears in Halloween as Ismael Cruz and in Robert Rodriguez’s Once Upon a Time in Mexico as Cucuy—part of a long-running association with Rodriguez’s kinetic, genre-driven storytelling.
