Dean Baker
Dean Baker is a London-born screen industry professional known for his work in production and for co-founding the company Hardy Son & Baker with actor Tom Hardy in 2012. As a partner at the banner, Baker has helped shape a slate that bridges prestige television and high-profile development.
He has served as an executive producer on the acclaimed series Taboo, and also backed Steven Knight’s television adaptation of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Under Baker’s leadership, Hardy Son & Baker secured a TV first-look arrangement with FX, positioning the company as a consistent supplier of premium scripted projects.
Before moving fully into film and TV, Baker spent around 15 years in advertising, producing award-winning commercials and building content-focused production units within WPP operating companies. His producing credits also include an on-screen appearance in Meridian: The First Year as himself. In development, he and Hardy have been linked to projects including Unreasonable Behaviour (with Angelina Jolie attached to direct), Once A Pilgrim with Working Title Films, and Shackleton with David Heyman and StudioCanal.
