Doug Claybourne
Doug Claybourne (also credited as Douglas Claybourne, born January 19, 1947) is a screen artist best known for his work in production and for appearing as himself in film documentaries and behind-the-scenes projects. His on-camera presence is closely tied to cinema history, offering viewers a firsthand perspective on how ambitious productions come together.
Claybourne is especially associated with the celebrated documentary Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse, where he appears as Self, contributing to the mosaic of voices surrounding the making of Apocalypse Now. He is also featured as Self in Unmasking Zorro, and appears via archive footage in On Location in Tulsa: The Making of 'Rumble Fish', connecting him to another key chapter of American filmmaking.
Beyond documentary appearances, Claybourne has taken on character work, including the role of the Homeless Knight in The Rainbow Prince.
