Elham Ehsas

Elham Ehsas (also credited as Elham Elas) is an Afghan screen artist born on December 1, 1990, in Kabul. Known for acting, he has built a reputation for inhabiting challenging, morally complex characters across international film, television, and theatre.

Ehsas made his screen debut in the acclaimed adaptation The Kite Runner, appearing as Young Assef. He later expanded his film work with roles such as Translator Kenny in War Machine and performances in titles including Attack, Fuze, Photo Booth, Yellow, Oksijan, and Our Kind of Love, steadily establishing himself as a versatile presence in contemporary drama.

Beyond the big screen, he has featured in major TV productions, including Netflix’s Young Wallander, the final season of Showtime’s Homeland, and Apple TV’s Shantaram. On stage, he has appeared in acclaimed runs of The Jungle at the Young Vic, in the West End, and in New York.

Ehsas is also a BAFTA-nominated and Oscar-shortlisted writer-director, continuing to develop original, socially engaged projects while pushing his craft through demanding roles.
