Elijah Wood
Elijah Wood (also known as Elijah Jordan Wood) is an American screen actor and producer, born on January 28, 1981, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Rising from a standout childhood career into major studio filmmaking, he has earned industry recognition including Saturn Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Award, along with an Emmy nomination.
Wood’s on-screen journey began early with a small role in Back to the Future Part II as the “Video Game Boy.” He quickly became a familiar face in 1990s cinema, building momentum through youth and teen roles before breaking into bigger event pictures such as Deep Impact and The Faculty.
Global fame arrived when he was cast as Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy—The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King—a defining performance that anchored one of modern fantasy’s most celebrated film series.
As an adult, Wood has embraced eclectic projects, from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (as Patrick) to Sin City (as Kevin) and Everything Is Illuminated. Beyond acting, he has pursued producing and music ventures, including founding the label Simian Records and co-launching the genre-focused company SpectreVision.
