Elle Fanning
Elle Fanning (Mary Elle Fanning, also known as Эль Фаннинг) is an American screen actor born on April 9, 1998, in Conyers, Georgia. She began working in film at a very young age, first appearing as the younger version of her sister Dakota Fanning’s character, quickly establishing herself as a distinctive presence in Hollywood.
As a child performer, Fanning built an impressive résumé across dramas and studio projects, with notable early turns in The Door in the Floor, Déjà Vu, Reservation Road, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (as Daisy at age 7). She also expanded into voice work, including Astro Boy, while continuing to take on emotionally grounded roles.
Her transition to leading parts gained momentum with Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere, followed by a breakout performance in J. J. Abrams’ sci-fi hit Super 8 as Alice Dainard. Fanning has since balanced major franchises with adventurous, auteur-driven choices, earning recognition for her range and screen intelligence.
On television, she drew major acclaim starring as Catherine the Great in Hulu’s satirical period series The Great, a performance that brought Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and cemented her status as a modern leading actor across film and TV.
