Emile Sherman

Emile Sherman (also credited as 伊繆舒曼) is an Australian film and television producer whose work has helped shape some of the most acclaimed English-language projects of the last decade. Based between Australia and the UK, Sherman is widely recognized for pairing prestige storytelling with international reach.

He is best known as a producer of The King’s Speech (2010), the awards-season phenomenon that earned him the Academy Award for Best Picture and major recognition from BAFTA, including wins for Best Film and Best British Film. The film’s success cemented Sherman as a leading force in contemporary production.

On television, Sherman served as an executive producer on Top of the Lake, a series celebrated for its bold tone and cinematic ambition, and recognized across major awards bodies including the Emmy Awards, BAFTA and the Golden Globes.

In 2008, Sherman co-founded See-Saw Films with producing partner Iain Canning, building a company with offices in Sydney and London. Across his career, he has accumulated multiple Oscar, BAFTA and Emmy nominations—alongside significant wins—reflecting a track record of consistently high-impact work.
