Eric Guillon
Eric Guillon is a French storyboard artist, designer, and art director whose work has helped define the modern animated comedy look. Born in Nice, France, he has built an international career shaping characters, worlds, and visual storytelling for major studio features.
Guillon is best known as the art director behind the Despicable Me franchise, where his design sensibility contributed to the series’ playful tone and instantly recognizable style. He is also widely credited as the creator and designer of the Minions, the breakout characters that became a global pop-culture phenomenon.
Beyond the Minion universe, his notable credits include The Lorax and The Secret Life of Pets, reflecting a consistent focus on expressive character design and clear, comedic visual beats. Guillon is based in Los Angeles, where he lives with his wife and children.
