Etan Cohen

Etan Cohen (also credited as Ethan Cohen, 이탠 코엔, Ітан Коен) is an Israeli-American screen artist best known for his work as a screenwriter. Born on January 1, 1974, in Jerusalem, Israel, he has built a career crafting high-concept studio comedies and blockbuster storytelling.

Cohen gained wide recognition for scripting major Hollywood hits, including Tropic Thunder, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, and Men in Black 3. His writing is often associated with fast-paced humor, big ensemble dynamics, and genre-savvy twists that translate well to large audiences.

In addition to his headline screenwriting credits, he has also been connected to projects such as Waverly, where he is noted as “Friend.” Across film and related screen work, Cohen’s contributions have helped shape some of the most visible comedy and family-franchise releases of the modern studio era.
