Evan Goldberg

Evan Goldberg (born September 15, 1982, in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian screenwriter, producer, and director known for shaping modern studio comedy with a sharp, character-driven edge. Working both behind the camera and in the writers’ room, he has become a key creative voice in contemporary North American film and television production.

Goldberg is best recognized for his long-running partnership with childhood friend Seth Rogen. Together, they helped launch and sustain a string of high-profile crowd-pleasers, including Superbad, Pineapple Express, This Is the End, The Interview, Sausage Party, Good Boys, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, blending raunchy humor with surprisingly heartfelt storytelling.

On-screen, Goldberg occasionally appears as himself in entertainment and talk formats, with credits such as Hot Ones, Talking with Chris Hardwick, Geeking Out, and Oh, Hi Mark: Making a Disaster, as well as an uncredited appearance in This Is the End. He has also contributed voice work, including Santa Inc..

Beyond film and TV, Goldberg and Rogen expanded their collaboration into business, co-founding the Canada-based cannabis brand Houseplant in 2019—an extension of their pop-culture footprint into lifestyle and design.
