Eyal Podell
Eyal Podell (also credited as אייל פודל) is an Israeli-born screen actor recognized for grounded, character-driven performances across film and television. Born on November 11, 1975, in Tel Aviv, Israel, Podell built a career playing sharp-edged professionals and everyday men, often bringing a natural intensity to supporting roles.
He is widely known for his work in the Behind Enemy Lines franchise, appearing in Behind Enemy Lines as Petty Officer Kennedy and later in Behind Enemy Lines II: Axis of Evil as Ensign David Barnes. These military-focused projects helped establish him as a reliable presence in action and suspense stories.
Podell’s filmography also spans thrillers, dramas, and offbeat indies, including Tides of War (Petty Officer Murray), Con Express (Rudy), Hard Scrambled (Scotty), and Sucker Free City (Stephan Cashen). In lighter fare like Pizza My Heart, he shows a warmer, comedic side as Joe Montebello.
Whether portraying soldiers under pressure or flawed civilians in contemporary dramas such as Blowing Smoke (Bob), Podell’s work is defined by specificity and restraint—an actor who elevates scenes through detail rather than spectacle.
