Garret Dillahunt
Garret Dillahunt (also credited as Garrett Dillahunt and Garret Lee Dillahunt) is an American screen actor born on November 24, 1964, in Castro Valley, California. Known for his chameleonic presence and grounded intensity, he has built a career spanning prestige drama, offbeat comedy, and genre storytelling.
Dillahunt is especially recognized for his television work, including his fan-favorite turn as Burt Chance on Fox’s Raising Hope, a performance that earned him a Critics’ Choice Television Award nomination. He also made a strong impression on Deadwood in multiple roles and later became a key figure in Fear the Walking Dead as John Dorie. His TV résumé extends to series such as ER, The 4400, Justified, and The Mindy Project, plus a starring run on Amazon’s Hand of God.
On the big screen, Dillahunt is a familiar face in acclaimed ensembles and hard-edged thrillers. Notable credits include No Country for Old Men (Wendell), The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (Ed Miller), Winter’s Bone (Sheriff Baskin), and The Road.
