George Burgess
George Burgess (born April 21, 1992, in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire) is an English screen artist known for acting roles that build on a high-profile career in professional rugby league. After establishing himself in sport, Burgess expanded into film and television, bringing a physical presence and grounded intensity to his performances.
He first stepped in front of the camera as an actor in 2019, making his debut in the Australian/New Zealand crime thriller Locusts, where he appeared as Ivan. The project marked a notable shift from the pitch to the screen and opened the door to further work across action and thriller titles.
Since then, Burgess has taken on parts in films including Beast (Neal), Ascendant (Sergey), The Weight (Letender), and Land of Bad (Private Cooper). He has also appeared as himself in Lewis Crocker vs. Liam Paro and joined the franchise world with Spartacus: House of Ashur as Rhodius.
