Gil Birmingham
Gil Birmingham (born July 13, 1953, in San Antonio, Texas) is an American screen and stage actor, widely recognized for portraying Billy Black in Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Of Comanche heritage, Birmingham has built a career defined by grounded authority and quietly powerful performances.
He first broke onto television with an early appearance on Riptide, then steadily expanded his résumé across film, TV, and theater. Over the years he has become a familiar presence in projects that range from mainstream franchise work to character-driven dramas.
Beyond the Twilight films, Birmingham’s notable credits include Rango (voice of Wounded Bird), The Lone Ranger (One Horn), Crooked Arrows (Ben Logan), and Skins (Sonny Yellow Lodge). He also drew attention for his role as Martin Hanson in Wind River: Rising, continuing his run of compelling supporting turns.
Known internationally—including under the name گیل بیرمینگام—Birmingham remains a respected performer whose work consistently brings depth, dignity, and authenticity to every story he joins.
